April Fools Follow-up
Observations of my April fools game:
From the start I compared this game to the card game “BS”, and I think when it came down to it, the players played my game in a similar manor. I found that some people were better at getting by with lying about what hand they were placing down, while others not so much. Kaila actually came up with a strategy to BS everything until the last pair played, which worked out for her and she ended up winning the game.
It was interesting to see that strategies were attempted, I guess I never really thought there would be much room for strategizing, but that’s probably not an assumption anyone should have about a game…
Anyway, I’m still going to try and get a picture edited into this post later (of the cards)… But that’s it for now.

I really enjoyed your game!
It really engages you to focus on your fellow players and see if they are lying or not.
The thing I would suggest is that somehow the player that is caught BS’ing take half of the discard pile or something like that because if you have enough tokens, you can lie the whole time, get caught and not get penalized card-wise – you would still have the same amount of cards, and it wouldn’t hurt you. Know what I mean? It might be something to consider
Other than that! Awesome job!
I agree that the penalty for getting caught isn’t big enough. It also would have been nice to know how many of each card was in the deck before we started playing. I was kind of afraid to call BS on anyone since it was basically impossible to logically tell if someone was lying. I also think that resuffling the cards back into peoples’ hand was a bad idea for the same reason.
But it was fun. Plus I won and that’s always awesome.
Desirae,
This is the second time testing the game? It would be interesting to play again knowing that Kaila has BS’d her way through. Knowing that, this might affect the strategies others use against her.
For balancing the penalty system, why don’t you try enacting a very high penalty next time and see what the outcome is? Then, try it halfway in-between. That should give you a sense of how the variables in your system work.

This was a fun game, although I’m no good at lying ^_^!! I don’t have any suggestions for this game. Good job!
